Pearl Beach - Central Coast
On the shores of Broken Bay and surrounded
by Brisbane Waters National Park is Pearl Beach, a small leafy tree
lined village. It is the choice holiday destination on the Central
Coast for many of Sydney's rich and famous. Towards the southern
end of Pearl Beach is where you will find most activity. With little
swell, this sheltered area is a very safe spot for the little ones
to splash around. Here you will find a 25 metre ocean rock pool.
Adjacent are a shower and toilet block, picnic tables and a playground
area. Across the road is a lovely restaurant and a cafe.
As
you head along to the northern end of the beach, you will pass many
luxurious holiday houses. A 15 minute walk around the cliff face
below Mount Ettalong Lookout, you will arrive at Umina Beach.
Alternatively, a walk from the southern
end of the beach through The Brisbane Waters National Park along
a fire trail from Crystal Avenue will lead you to Patonga.
The trip takes about 2 hours.
